A side hustle is not a part-time job.
Side gig is synonymous with a side hustle. Side job is not. Here’s why: A side hustle is any (legal, ethical, and moral, in my opinion) money-making activity that you do on the side of your full-time occupation. It’s something you want to do; not something you have to do. See the difference? Unless your full-time vocation is wife-and-mother as is mine, then it’s a combination of both.
It’s something you enjoy doing that also earns money on the side.
Your chosen side hustle springs from that which you enjoy
That’s my philosophy, anyway. If you look hard enough, you’ll find a debate exists online about what’s a side hustle and what’s not. But, I’m not a great debater. I’m a great researcher.
If you haven’t already pinned-down your side hustle, then I encourage you to take inventory of which skills or talents come to you naturally? Some people turn their hobbies into side gigs. For others, their skills and talents aren’t clear to them. If you fall into the latter group, read StrengthFinder 2.0. It helped me narrow my focus and gain clear direction.
